Named after the river Chouk that runs beside it the VPK Namchouk Guesthouse is just off the main road running through Vieng Phouka. Opened in 2008 the VPK Namchouk Guesthouse is split in to two halves, there are bungalow style rooms that overlook the Nam Chouk and there are more modern rooms set back slightly across a parking area.

The rooms are modest and clean and all have private bathrooms although there are only cold water showers due to the fact that the electricity grid has not yet reached Vieng Phouka.

The VPK Guesthouse is located in what can be considered as the centre of town and it is close to the Morning Market, Bus station, Bank, Post Office, Tourism Office, Trekking agents and restaurants.

The facilities to be honest are limited although this is mainly due to the lack of electricity. The guesthouse does have a restaurant and can provide breakfast, lunch and dinner although this must be arranged in advance.
